Yahweh Faith Foundation - Reverend Elijah Mugisa

Project Leader and Foundation Founder

Reverend Elijah Mugisa

My father Francis Kimonyo was born in 1942 in Rwanda. He fled to Uganda because of tribal conflict in 1962, twenty years after his birth. By God’s sovereignty, he met Kabatooro Stella while en route to Uganda, and they married in 1974, settling in Fortportal in south-western Uganda.

On February 15, 1976 at Buhinga Regional Hospital, I was born in the early morning hours. I grew up in church and was actively engaged in Sunday school throughout my childhood and teenage years.

In 1992, when I was sixteen, I heard the voice of the Lord. It was 4 PM, and though I wasn’t asleep, it was as if I was dreaming. God called me to His divine purposes, asking that I seek to be humble and obedient in my service to Him.

Since that day more than thirty years ago, I’ve never looked back, having committed my life to serving humanity through spiritual and livelihood-improvement programs.

In 2007, I married my beautiful wife, and we are blessed with five biological children as well as care for twenty orphaned children.

The goodness and faithfulness of the Lord has been manifested abundantly in my life, doing things only He can go. I served as chairman of the scripture union at Fortportal Institute of Commerce from 2001 to 2002. I’m also an administrator for United Pentecostal Churches International, which oversees more than 3000 churches. God’s favor has led me to serve as the dean at Divine International University from 2000-2017. Most recently, I serve as the executive director in Africa for the Yahweh Faith Foundation and am the director of Yahweh Faith Foundation School.

I am thankful for the life God has given me, made possible only in Jesus’s name.
