Walk By Faith
They said, “We’re with you. Let’s get started.” They rolled up their sleeves, ready for the good work.
(Nehemiah 2:18 – The Message)
When Nehemiah was called from his cup bearer’s position, having been fully equipped by God to do something new, he found favor with the king.
Not only that, but the king went above and beyond, making certain Nehemiah had everything he would need for the task at hand.
And what was that task? He’d been called to orchestrate the building of the wall around Jerusalem.
- Was it daunting?
- Was Nehemiah, at times, afraid?
- Were there enemies to intimidate him, attempt to thwart the work?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
But God!
From its beginning to its completion, it took Nehemiah only fifty-two days to restore and rebuild the wall.
How?
Because, from the start, he banked on God’s good promises, saying—
The God of heaven will give us success (Neh. 2:20 NIV).
Indeed, Nehemiah walked by faith, and he required those working with him to do the same.
Such is the same with Pastor Elijah Mugisa and his crew.
When God affirmed He desired for them to build a school as part of the Yahweh Faith Foundation, like Nehemiah, Pastor Elijah banked on God’s good and faithful promise.
The God of heaven will give us success.
And just as God showed up to enable the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem, He enabled Pastor Elijah and his team to build the YFF school, and in only 31 days.
Was it daunting?
Yes.
Was Pastor Elijah or any others involved ever afraid?
Yes.
Was there an enemy to intimidate him, attempt to thwart the work?
Yes.
And yet, walking by faith, they accomplished the task to which God called them.
How?
The God of heaven gave them success.
What joy to participate in God’s work, through generous donations and prayers.
May we, too, be encouraged to…
Walk by faith!
Kind Father, thank You for testimonies like Nehemiah’s, like Pastor
Elijah. Help us walk by faith, trusting you to be faithful to all Your
good and precious promises to us. May they be yes and amen!
